Lancaster Livestock Auction: Lancaster Weekly Sale of Prime Lambs & Cast Ewes, Monday 15th December 2025.

STORE LAMBS

An incredible store lamb trade with a full row of pens averaging £122. Strongest pens of Texel cross to £139 and Suffolk cross to £134 and other short keep feeding lambs £119 to £127 and longer keep hill bred lambs £75 to £90.

CULL SHEEP

A full compliment of competitive buyers saw all sold today averaging £149. Strongest pure and cross bred continental ewes sold to £228 with better end mediums £170 to £190. Mules to £164 and other heavies £148 to £255 and mediums £125 to £140. Horned ewes to £140 and £138.
Several cull rams selling to £252 for Texels and £125 for Swaledales.

PRIME LAMBS

Numbers rising as store lamb purchasers start to present finished lambs. A market SQQ of 320p/kg and overall 315p/kg. Well fed and well bred lambs in keenest demand selling to 441p/kg for Beltex cross from M Beresford with others regularly 360p/kg to 395p/kg, best commercial lambs were to 353p/kg and generally 320p/kg to 340p/kg. Top grossing today was a Texel cross from J Twigge at £178 and £176 JR&LA Capstick.
Monday prime sheep sales will run as normal over the festive period.
